We went to Fraser Island, which was so much fun. We took a day tour which we got to see all the popular spots. Some people rent a 4WD and camp, but there is no way we could drive on a pile of sand. It was nice to get a tour and understand the island. It is considered a world heritage site and a miracle. During the bus tour you are able to take flights in a small charter plane. We took the opportunity to do it. We ended up seeing whales and on the island we saw a dingo. It was such a gorgeous day.
Next, on the agenda was heading to Airlie Beach to see the Whitsunday Islands. We decided to skip it because the weather was really bad and we got to see the islands in Fiji. We spent some time there and walked around town. Definitely, another beach town with all the shops and tour offices.
Now we are in Cairns. We ended up booking a boat tour to see the Great Barrier Reef, this was something that I wasn’t going to miss. The boat we took was really nice and we got a good price. Phill and I both went scuba diving. So, you know we had to take pictures, so we got a underwater camera. We loved it. I can’t wait to go again. FYI – we didn’t get sea sick. LOL. I almost did at the end. Another exciting part of the trip was the Upolu Cay, which is a sand island in the middle of the ocean. Nothing is on it at all. Imagine, stranded on a desserted island. They drop you off there and you go snorkeling. I just went and Phill ran around the small little island and got some sun. I hope everyone enjoys the new pictures. P&V
