hello again!
We ended up staying in varanasi for a week, was fab! the street markets were so full of colour and like a maze walking round them.
We got to see the river ganges everyday, saw ceremonies along it at night and the burning ghats where families came to cremate deceased relatives. the atmosphere was so laid back and it was difficult to worry about anything..so we didnt :-) ...plus it was soo cheap!
After a week we decided to move on and went onto mumbai.. again a nightmare long train journey of about 36 hours, but we bumped up are class this time so was a little more comfortable.
Unfortunately mumbai hasnt been that great for me, weve so far been here for 8 days and ive been sick for 7days of it, so seen some nice hotel rooms but not much else lol. feeling better now but trust me to get ill in one of the more expensive cities in india! tom has seen as much as there is to see in mumbai, whilst ive been in bed hes been out and about wondering the streets and taking in the atmosphere and food! so not all bad! :-)
We did go on a boat ride and see the elephanta caves which were quite interesting, and it was a nice walk around the area, so a little sight seeing has been done.
Hopefully we'll be moving in in a few days, possibiliy to goa to relax on the beaches and visit the odd towns in between!
Forgot to mention...it is very warm now we have moved to the south!! ive turned into a complete hippie with ali-ba-ba trousers and vest tops lol. think its in the 20`C here now...lots of suncream being applied and been good and not burnt yet...alothogh not been out much!!
We still seem to be a phenonenom (not sure about the spelling there) and having pictures taken of us whereever we go...gettin a little tiresome but still quite amusing!-glad im not as blonde as i was before i left!!! would stand out even more.
Still having a great time and cant wait to see the next bit of india!!
