I finally made it back to Thailand; after what felt like an eternity on planes. I don't mind flying but I am very happy I chose aisle seats so I could get up and move around whenever I wanted to!
I didn't get ripped of by the taxi driver into town either!! Win! And the first one I think I've ever had that used wing mirrors and indicated.
Got checked in fine. Not a fancy room but adequate to what I need. And AC so its all good! Went out for a wander to reacquaint myself with the humidity and insanity that is Khao San Road and surrounding streets. To quote many t-shirts "same same but dfferent".
Slept in next day. Jetlag hangovers suck. Got up eventually and went and booked bus, sorted a new sim card out and sat by the river and chilled out. Randomly bumped into a friend in a Soi Rambuttri restaurant and then headed back to hostel after a wee walk via book shops (no I didn't buy any Mam, just browsed).
A flying visit to BKK, but settled me back into the swing of travelling nicely. Was a bit apprehensive but as I said to Cat, it was like slipping on an old pair of trainers that you forgot were so comfy. I hope that analogy makes more sense to some of you than Cat thought it did!
