November 9th 2010 --- Byron Bay
I love Byron! The atmosphere and attitude of the town is so laid back and easy going.I could easily live here I reckon! In the morning, (after a bit of a sleep in) we met up with Becky and treated ourselves to a delicious breakfast by the beach.I had Asian spiced mushrooms and poached eggs on sourdough bread with freshly squeezed orange juice --- delicious! We were hoping to spend the majority of the day on the beach, but the weather wasn't exactly co-operating, so we opted to browse through the shops as we prayed for better weather. Our positive thinking must have worked because the showers passed by the time we were done shopping, so we headed to the Byron Bay Hotel and had a couple drinks and took in the view of the beach. After about an hour the sun was out shining, so we darted to the beach to soak up some sun. After an hour or so, we gathered our beach stuff and slowly made our way back to the hostel, popping in and out of shops on the way.We had a shower and freshened up before heading to Hogs Breath for dinner.Becky was leaving on the evening bus to Sydney at 9pm, so we snapped some shots by the water with her before heading back to the hostel so that she could grab her luggage and head to the station.Allie and I repacked our gear so it would be ready for the morning, and then had some spiced rum and Fanta (a new concoction that Allie has introduced me to... tastes just like a creamsicle) before heading to bed.
