I felt nothing but excitment and curiousity when I woke up this morning. There's so much out there for everyone and yet we live in our own little day-to-day bubbles doing nothing out of the ordinary. Today was the first day I embark on my year in Australia and hell I can't wait!
My dad and I left the house around 15:30ish to go pick Laura up from work because she was coming with us to the airport - from Beau Bells to LHR here we come!! We stood around and waited for a bit at the airport, waiting for everyone on the group flight to arrive. Sarah, George and Rachel were already at the terminal when I arrived. Everyone had massive beaming smiles (obviously just as excited as me) one by one we were all finally ready to check in.
Through we go, saying our goodbyes and waving to the people we love and whom we won't see until 2015. Bags checked, boarding pass handed over, security done, off we go!
(Notes taken from my book)
So the current time is 22:53, we've been on the plane around 30 minutes already. My seat was originally in the middle however the guy to my left kindly asked if I wouldn't mind moving to the window seat so his Mother-in-Law could sit next to him - my answer of course was yes, who in their right mind would turn down a window seat?!
I'm watching Divergent right now, well trying to. Major turbulance and the little Chinese woman next to me keeps leaning her head on me. Local time in Hong Kong right now = 05:59. Earlier in the departure lounge Ben found it funny how our seat numbers were similar to that of ladies bra sizes, not sure how he thinks that seen as we were sat in seats like 68J, 60J etc - some pretty hence bra sizes eyy! The lightening keeps flashing through my window every few seconds, I guess it won't take long before we're high enough above the clouds.
Time in Hong Kong now is 07:04 - I still haven't slept and we've been on the plane over 9hrs. There's been on/off turbulance the whole way but hey less than 3 hours until we arrive in Hong Kong! Currently flying over Tianjun with only 1,242 miles to go.
