Arrh, the lovely land of Thai.......... We arrived in Bangkok after a 5 hour delay from Sydney!!! We met an Aussie guy named Delon at the airport who ended up sitting next to us on the flight.... well funny guy who's been to Thailand before so we arrange to meet up with him for some Bangkok sightseeing. Our first day in Bangkok was ace.... there was an electric storm in the afternoon and it rained so hard that the roads turned into rivers in seconds. That evening we did the obligatory Kho San Road and met a couple from London so we drank the night away with them and also arranged to meet with them the next day. Not th best idea as we both woke with hangovers but we had promised to meet up so we crawled out of bed and met Delon, Natalie & Jenko at 9am. Delon took control of us all and was like a school teacher all day telling us where to go and what to do - it was great, so nice to relie on someone else for a change and he was so funny it made our day. We did the Grad Palace which Stu was awe struck by, then the reclining Buddha, ride in a tuck tuck, lunch in China Town (mental pace of life) and finally a boat back to near Kho San where our hotel was. When we got back we managed to find ourselves down some back street in Bangkok where a Thia Kick Boxer was practising in a ring so we decided to stick around and have a look.... god those guy's can kick... the noise alone was pretty scary! That night we took the night train to Chang Mai.......... what an experience........ 16 hours couped up like sardines in a bunk bed.
We have both been super impressed by Bangkok, we were worried it might be a culture shock but to be honest Morocco was worse!
