Day 8! We got the bus to Philadelphia this morning, and walked to our accommodation which we found on Airbnb. We're staying in like a wing of a lady's house, with a queen size bed and single bed, wee kitchenette and our own bathroom, it's so cute! The woman's lovely too, she's called Marj and she's put loads of bottled water and breakfast in the fridge, plus loads of helpful advice of things to do in the city. She recommended we go to Reading Terminal market for lunch, which was really cool. A huge indoor market with every kind of food stall you can imagine! I went to a Soul Food stall for chicken and waffles. Yum! Was pretty funny that I was the only white person in the whole stall though.. We then went to the Independence Hall visitor centre and watched a couple of super cheesy history videos about independence, then saw the Independence Hall itself and the Liberty Bell. The bell is a lot smaller than I thought I'd be, I expected it to be like the size of a building! We headed back to the house via Whole Foods to buy dinner and stayed in for the evening because there was a huge thunderstorm. My phone even flashed up some warning saying i was in a flash flood warning zone!? No idea where that came from. The good thing about having to stay in all night was that we got quite a lot of the rest of our trip planned out :) L x
