Day 20! We had a bit of a panicky start to the morning when I found a HUGE cockroach upside down underneath the sink (at least it wasn't the right way up and couldn't run away!) Julie managed to put a cup over it but then couldn't do any more in case it escaped, so Catherine then (like half an hour later) finally plucked up the courage to throw it outside. When I say throw it outside I mean literally throw the whole cup and magazine over the side of the balcony! We all hate cockroaches, as you may have guessed. Anyway after this event me and Catherine headed off for Universal! Julie stayed at the motel for a lazy pool day. Universal was surprisingly easy to get to, managed to drive there and park with no problems. As soon as we got in we headed straight for the Harry Potter bit, which was AWESOME. We were totally in our element! Diagon Alley was fantastic, and you could go in all the shops, and there was a really good ride in the vaults of Gringotts. We went to Olivanders and Catherine got chosen to reenact the wand-choosing scene and got a wand, it was so cool! We took the Hogwarts Express from platform 9 3/4 to Hogsmeade where there were more rides and shops and the entire village was recreated. We spent like 7 hours just in the 2 Harry Potter bits! We did a few other rides too, like the Jurassic Park river ride, the Transformers simulator, the ET one (which was a bit rubbish) and some others I can't remember. We would have loved to do more but most of the rides were closed in the afternoon because of a thunderstorm. Anyway we absolutely loved Universal, it was such a good day!! We drove back to pick up Julie and went to Olive Garden for dinner, another super cheap dinner in Florida. Good thing the food is cheap since we've spent a fortune on everything else here! L x
