Hi all...
Shall keep this short-ish as we´re pretty up to date in blog terms, and having just loaded an album of Mendoza pictures they tell the story of our 4 days there.....
In a nutshell... lots of steak, lots of wine, some cycling, some beautiful vineyards, 2 cool new Aussie friends, beautiful town and backdrop. It was a place we really enjoyed for all the above reasons.
Stayed at a really nice hostel with yummy brekkies (managed to get a decent cup of tea there due to actually boiled water - tepid just will not do). bBetter than that though was the free glass of wine each evening - bonus! Also had a lovely bbq at the hostel on our last night - Paul ate his body weight in steak - it was totally delicious. We were sitting with an Italian couple at dinner and I honestly don´t think they´d seen someone eat that volume of food before in their lives! That´s just the way we roll...... we will literally be rolling soon.
Well all hang ups about weight aside - it was great. Cycling round the vineyards was brilliant, the first day the weather was beautifully hot and sunny and we cruised round about 6 different places with our Aussie mates. Had a really good time, and could enjoy it all without the burden of driving a car! Had a lazy day round the big park in the town which was really pretty - boating lake, rose gardens, good views. Then another day out at the vineyards to cover the ones we missed the previous day. Got to be thorough!
We left on Sunday on a night bus to Salta which is where we are now - got here fairly late yesterday afternoon. It feels more northern here, beginning to feel more Andean and I think our shorts and flip flops will be packed away for a while now... feels a touch cooler. Off to explore the town today (we had a quick look yesterday) which looks very pretty and cute. Then off to Chile tomorrow, San Pedro de Atacama in the north, which we will use as our start point to get into Bolivia and then on to Peru, finishing up in Chile again in December.
Well, as always, hope all is well and happy at home. Let us know how you all are.
Much love, L&P xxxxx
