House specialty drinks are Fay's SPICY BLOODY MARY FOR $5.50. The spicy beans garnished in this drink were excellent.I could have had it as an appetizer. Appetizer- Seafood Gumbo for $4.50 worth every cent and as authentic as ever. Also had crab meat stuffed jalapenos for $7.95.French bread served with meals, heated in small toaster next to the bar.Marinated crab claws at $6.75 were to die for! They were large and over-flowing on the plate.Fast and friendly service with excellent ambience. A true Cajon watering hole with a rustic saloon style serving fresh local ingredients and homemade Cajon cuisine.Entrée- We shared the sampler platter as suggested by other bar flies. It had a cup of gumbo, Cajon fried chicken, shrimp Creole, red beans and rice, rabbit and sausage, JAMBALAYAall for only $13.Also had pasta Rosa which was quite spicy hosting a cayenne kick over penne. It was a good blend of spicy dish with mellow flavors that made it relatively light.Oxymoron?Try it yourself!
Arrive early as seating is very limited and if you have a large crowd (4 or more) good luck; expect to wait.We noticed there was no smoke in this pub which was much appreciated.Very much like a Cajon scene as shots of jager were poured at 12:15 in the afternoon AND a couple dances close to one another. There was a water bowl for any dog patrons that might happen in.
