We took a trip to Rottnest, an island nearby, with T-dawg, Tahnee, Matt, Loui, Jordan, Pedro and Jenny. Spent the ferry ride trying not to throw up (had a big night the night before, plus the rocking and the noise, it wasn't fun) but once we were back on land, everything was good. We rented bikes and rode pretty much around the whole island - well, only the cool people, me, Pedro, Loui and Jenny. The other lazy bums rode for 5 minutes and plonked down on the second beach we found. Losers.
Us adventurous types found a secluded white sand beach on the other side of the island and spent the day swimming, listening to music on Pedro's phone and trying not to get sunburnt. There were no trees to speak of, so easier said than done. I did quite well, but Loui came out on top one of the better sunburns I have seen in my life.
That night we fed ourselves and chilled out at the pub (it's Australia, people, the pub was probably the first thing built on this island) and played with quokkas - a sort of cross between a giant rat and a tiny kangaroo. They are really domesticated and come up to see what you're up to. Jordan found one and they fell in love. We named her Jasmine, and they had to split up because we left the next day, and he hasn't been the same since.
