Howdy to all our fans and devoted readers. Apologies for the delay but you know how it is.. places to go and people to see.
We send out our deepest apologies to a MR C Millard who complained about the somewhat creative spelling and inproper English in the last blog.. We will strive to do better innit Bruv Buyakasha!!!
So.. our last couple of days in Phuket were awesome. On our last night we went to a major foam party.. Woop Woop. It was really dangerous however and Tara did not like the foam up her nose. There were loads of English speaking people, mainl Aussies though which resulted in Laura speaking in an Australian accent for the next couple of days... she is so multi-lingual.. Goodday Bruce!!
So after a somewhat messy night, we packed our bags and headed off to Krabi. As we drove along the coast, we were fairly optimistic about our stay there. There were plenty of bars and a pretty decent beach. After dropping off the other passengers who were staying in cushty hotels, the bus took a turn away from the coast and took us up a dirt track... very bumpy... not good for full bladders.. those who have driven up Walters road will understand.
So we were dropped by the side of a supposed lake... AKA Swamp. we were staying in small wooden Bungalows around the swamp.... lots of trees... bugs... mud.. Tara was not happy but Laura felt right at home... she suited the surroundings very much. The Bungalows were basic and we were not the only inhabitants... the lizards had made it their home as well... we welcomed our scaley friends. We walked down to the beach that night and yes the bars and restaurants were great but there was absolutely no one there... Like a Ghost town so we returned to the death bungalow for an early night.
Next day, very refreshed, we set off for white-water rafting. Sweet as a nut!!!We drove high into the mountains to a National Park which was stunning.. Elephants everywhere. Prior to setting off on our rafts we were given a very brief safety talk which may aswell have been in Thai because we understood naff all. we set off in the raft with 2 so-called rafting experts and about 2 minutes in we realised that we had a puncture in the boat... typical. So we then had to paddle... upstream... feel the burn.. so that we could switch boats. So take 2... we caught up with the other rafts and waited very anxiously as a Thai man opened the Dam behind us, and we were propelled down the river at alarming speed. Tara got over-excited by the fact that we were beating the other rafts and threw herself into the water....aaaaahhh. We were both almost wettng ourselfs but then decided that this was really dangerous and we should probably get Fowler back onto the raft. Laura was holding onto her which was probably not the best idea as Tara was getting dragged along the rocks... A Swedish man/warrior/hero managed to pull Tara back onto the raft via her shorts... kinky.. Our Hero. Tara is fine by the way but may need some councelling to get over the trauma... Laura is now doing many Bicep curls so that if this were to occur again, she could use her strong hand to pull Tara back in!!!
So we got back to the loveshack absolutely shattered which was lucky as there is naff all to do at night... We have been getting so bored at night that we have made up some lovely poems and songs, and are now fluent in Jumanji!!
It has not been all that bad really, we also went Kayaking... yes our guns are now amazing!! We also spent the afternoon swimming in a fresh water lake... Not the swamp... so we have really quite enjoyed our time here but are ready for some hardcore partying.
We leave for Koh Samui tomorrow... can't bloody wait. There is lots of partying to be done...
So friends, family and small furry animals.. we must leave it at that. we have pics to add but we are not sure whether this painfully slow internet will allow us to add them.. so.. stay classy everyone and have an amazing Christmas!!!
