Double figures!

Yes we're into double figures now - only 95 days until departure and we're getting more excited every day! Each time we get another injection or buy another small piece of kit it seems more and more real. I got very excited after buying a few cheap vests in Primark a few weeks ago!

Our first month in America is now fully planned, after we booked our Green Tortoise Adventure tour yesterday! We're booked up for the Canyons of the West Tour which is a round trip from Las Vegas, and works out well as we get dropped of in Vegas at the beginning of our timeshare week in the Hilton Hotel! The Green Tortoise is the bus you travel on and at night the seats turn into beds and everyone sleeps on the bus! It will certainly be an experience and from the reviews and photos we've looked at we'll see some amazing sites...and drink a lot of booze on the bus! One of the experiences on offer is a hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. I'm sure I'd have no trouble getting down there but not sure I'd make it back up! Think I might just sunbathe that day!

So the first month of our trip looks like: 4 nights in New York, 2 nights in Washington DC, 4 nights in New Orleans, first timeshare week in Arkansas, 8 day tour of Canyons and second timeshare week in Las Vegas! Not bad! Although when we did our sums we are spending most of our USA budget in the first month, so it looks like we'll be bumming about on beaches in California for all of July! I'm sure we'll cope with that.

Another thing we've booked recently is tickets to see England v Georgia in the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand. Even though initially I was annoyed that we would be in NZ while the World Cup was going on, I've decided to embrace it - if you can't beat em join em! And the tickets were cheaper than a ticket to see Middlesbrough play and will no doubt be much more enjoyable! So if anyone fancies giving us some lessons in Rugby before we go it would be much appreciated!

So it's another Saturday night in for us tonight, but it will be well worth it in the end! We're at the stage where every penny counts and we've got the knowlege of what's ahead to keep us going!!
