Another long bus journey ahead for us today...we left our hotel early and walked the short distance to the bus station near the night market for our bus to Siem Reap. It may have only been a short distance but we were still sweating after carting our rucksacks there in the early morningheat...maybe we should pay the dollar for the tuk-tuk next time!

We were on the bus for about 6 hours in total, and for once there were no random occurences! We were met at the other end by the tuk-tuk driver we'd arranged to take us to our hotel and we arrived just after 3pm. We're splashing out a bit over the next few days and staying in a 3 star hotel with a pool; we think it'll be well used after our trips out to the temples eacdh day in the heat!

After a quick swim, we went to relax in our room for a while before having dinner in the hotel restaurant. The food was OK, although I think the restaurants in town will be better. We DID have our first bottle of wine in AGES though, which was a nice change from beer! Another early night tonight - day 1 of temple trekking around Angkor tomorrow...
