We signed up for a few free bits at the hostel starting this morning.
We did a walking tour of one of the Mexican areas of Chicago. Its wasnt great but we did have lunch at a Mexican resteraunt that was good. Had a mix of tacos and other tasters. $5 which was super cheap for all the food we got.
We did meet a guy called Malcolm who we convinced to sign up to the Cultural festival in the park we were going to that night.
Thought it might have been postponed as it started to rain but it didnt last long.
Laura ended up going to the pharmacy and gettin some bite cream and allergy tablets. hope they work.
We met the tour guide Chuck (how American) and he walked us down to Millenium park. All ourdoor but amazingly designed. Ordered a Chicago style deep dish pizza between 3 of us. We each had 2 pieces but could not finish it. It was huge. The crust must have been about 3 inches and the actual pizza 2 inches deep. Looked more like a quiche or pie than a pizza.
The actual festival was amazing. All african style music with hippies in the audience dancing around looking really wow. All the locals came and the park was rammed. Everyone having a great time on a thursday night. Chuck said this happens almost everynight in Chicago to bring the people together. Such a great idea.
Laura kept complaining that she felt really drunk and weird. We got back to the hostel and she basically fell over nothing. But her into bed and she conked out straight away. Strange!
