We arrived in Brisbane half an hour late and went to find Laura's Uncle John who had been waiting for us. After a quick look for the car we headed off to the surburbs of Brisbane where Uncle john lives.
He has a wonderful house overlooking the sea. After unpacking and eating lunch we went for a drive to take a look at the local scenery. (He kindly let us borrow his camera so we could take some pics.)
The next day we took a River-Cat up Brisbane's river to get a good look of the city from a boat. We had running commentry from Uncle John about the history of buildings etc that made it a very informative boat ride. Then we went to one of Uncle John's relatives for lunch and had a lovely lunch with all the family. Took the dogs out for a walk and then headed back to Uncle John's house.
Unlce John also took us on a quick tour of Brisbane inlcuding up a mountain (the name of which escapes me) so we got to see the whole of Brisbane sprawled out before us and to the docks to see all the boats and cranes used to unload cargo. Before we headed back to the house to relax and have a quick nap because we were thoughly exhausted.
On our final day in Brisbane we had a quick walk along the promanade infront of Uncle John's house looking for washed up cray fish, before Uncle john very kindly drove us down to Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast to meet Chris and Felix.
Had a few thoroughly lovley days in Brisbane.
