G'Day! (for the final time!) This'll be my final journal entry in Oz... no pressure to make it a goodun! Since my last amazingly witty entry, I have been slaving away in clinic (by that I mean brushing up on my stalking technique!). Although the JMO (SHO or something in England) let me take out some K-wires with some trusty pliers! I've been assisting in theatre lots - was like "You...want me...to use the drill?!!!" when I got handed an incredibly dangerous power drill! Was pleasantly suprised when it didn't go all the way through the patient's arm! Managed to watch my boss's daughter play softball (v competitive parents for an 11yr old's game!), and go to a talk for his other daughter who's 9 - cue lots of groans & ews with the graphic surgical pics! Not bad for a day's work! Went for a lovely walk through the bush & round to the bay of a Sydney Harbour Inlet with said Boss's daughter babbling next to me the whole time! Have also been round to a couple of Consultants's for dinner (I love free food!). My Boss also has (for some unknown reason) a giant whip in the boot of his car, which you'll be able to see him demonstrating once I can upload the piccies. I told him it disturbed me... Went for a groovy drive (thanks to my itrip!) down the coast with my Unca T - crazee road out over the ocean & back via the weird statue things at Olympic Park. Met up with my old school friend Emily, now Mrs Goodwin, and her new kid Charlie - last time I saw her was in 1999 -how things change! So my f*ck ups so far since last time have been: Repeatedly dropping screws into a patient's arm... Saying Sydney was pretty cheap for a capital city, knowing full well it isn't Canberra! Laughing at people's jokes when I can't hear them & are too embarrassed to ask "what?!" another 3 times... Agreeing to go to the cinema with someone thinking they were just being nice, when they actually thought it was a date - Queue awkward silence when I started talking about Daniel... Denting Daniel's friend Elliot's Mum's car after he'd paid for drinks all night - oops! And am now sitting in 3 tops, my coat & scarf at the computer on my last night in Sydney. Yes, it's still f*cking freezing! Am looking forward to writing from sunny Vanuatu sometime soon! Hopefully you can all find sufficient entertainment before the next breathtaking entry....
