Okay............ well SO much has happened in the 12 or so hours since i wrote here last. After breakfast, i went to the travel agent at the hotel to book a bus to cross the boarder to Krong Koh kong, a small village just other side of teh border. One would be led to belive that it would be simple enough. The woman at the travel agent told me she had a great deal and it would only Be leaving on Saturday, straight to sihonoukville, then i must stay the night at so and so place. Another travel agent told me i could only go to Sisophon (northern Crossing) and another was adamant that it was Siem reap or nothing. Talk about mates rates. Anyway, so i made my way to the Bangkok Eastern Bus station, where i boardered the public bus for a place called Trat. That took only 6 hours. Not a bad trip on all accounts, made a stop for lunch, and was air conditioned coach.... There was more leg room than on that jetstar flight!!!!! So it was interesting to see the way the land and scenery changed. And changed. AT Trat, i got off the bus and had to find my way to the Cambodian Border. In the end, i got on a mini school bus full of kids, and embarked on a 2 hour sojourn to the Cambodian Border. These kids travel that To AND from school daily. That was where all the good bits ended. I got had. Big time. They overcharged me for my visa... i put on a song and dance, but i had to pay it - the border closes at 2000 and it was well afetr 1900, so i paid it (Is a hotline to email - so i will) and then the usual herds of .."Oh you so beautiul, you like sydney, i watch olympic on tv, sydney beautiful.." to the downright... "You want one night cambodia Man?? I good..I...." You get the point i am sure. MAde my way to a place called Otto's - read about it and seems really nice. Otto of course is the guy who runs it and IS REALLY Nice. THis whole place is nice... so from the sour taste of rip off merchants on the border to this paradise, my day has certainly been a colourful one!!!

I chose to stay here as a tribute to the late Otto Ebbers. Rest in Peace Otto, MAx has nothing on you... except that he is alive.
