Our home for the next 2 nights is a gorgeous hostel right on the beach in Nungwi. Luckily, we had left the rain in Stonetown so it was absolutely glorious! We headed striaght for the beach! This is pretty much where I spent the next 2 days! Did a bit of snorkelling, which was so much better than the other day. I saw a blue starfish! Got a bit freaked out though as one of the girls on the trip stood on a sea cucumber on the way out to the boat and it turned the water purple, I had absolutely no idea what it was but decided it must be deadly! Of course it was harmless!
Wandered up to a turtle sanctuary that afternoon and saw some green turtles that had been caught by fisherman and were being rehabilitated so that they could be returnedto the sea. They were so cool, we got to feed them and play with them.
Had a gorgeous seafood BBQ on the beach with a gorgeous Octopus curry, Yum! Had a swing in a hammock, a few drinks and watched some acrobats on the beach. One of them was an albino black man!
Left Nungwi for our trip back to the mainland. Had a horrible ferry crossing back, where I think everyone got seasick! Its quite sad to say but I was quite excited to be getting back to the truck! Its been my home for weeks now! Got back to the campsite and Steve had put all our tents up for us, bless!
Next stop Malawi!
