Hello!! I am currently in Lake Taupo where i have just come back from doing a skydive!!!! It was amazing, such a rush! I jumped from 12,000 feet which was a freefall of 45seconds and then it was about another 4 or5 minutes before I landed. I can't really believe I did it, i've got a dvd which i will have to show everyone when i get back, its really funny and some of my facial expressions are priceless!! Got pictures as well which i will put up here now for u to see! The lake i jumped over is massive, its bigger than singapore and had forests and volcanoes to look at on the way down to, so was a pretty good view.
The plane we went up in was tiny and really bumpy...think i was more scared of the plane ride than actually jumping out of the plane!! Once ur hanging over the edge u don't really have time to think about it and then ur gone and its like flying!!
It is one of the best experiences I've ever had, but think i will need to go and have a sleep after i have written this as i'm worn out from all the excitement!
As i said i'm in taupo now, and head off to wellington tomorrow. So far in new zealand i have been to auckland, which was ok, but just a big city, not a whole lot to do apart from drink! then headed to waitomo which was really good, as its here where they have lots of caves with glow worms in. so i went black water rafting or cave tubing here. That was lots of fun, they basically take u down into the caves with a wetsuit on and a black rubber ring and u float and swim around the caves, it was quite scary though because they make u do most of it is darkness as they get u to turn your hat light off, but its really good because u can see all of the glowworms when u look up and it just looks like thousands of stars, its pretty incredible. U also get to jump off a waterfall backwards and go down this slide which was fun. After waitomo i headed to roturua, i went to watch a maori show here which was really good, and u get to have a meal which they cook in an underground oven, called hangi. it was so good...its the best food i've had since i've been away and there was even custard for dessert!!
After roturua, i headed to taupo, but on the magic bus it stops at places on the way, and we stopped at the hot mud pools and a geyser and geothermal park. Rotorua is famous for all its volcanoes and geothermal activity so the mud pools and geothermal stuff was really interesting and pretty, there were loads of craters and pools that were all different colours.
So that is it for now, just thought i would put a post up to tell u all that i've just jumped out of a plane!! Hope u like the pics!!
lots of love laura xxxx
