Hey it's Lily
After our 5 day brief Tokyo encounter we were off for our really brief encounter with Sydney. Monday evening we left for the airport everything seemed to be going fine no queue for check in, arrived in good time etc etc.. A major problem arose while checking in we found out to our horror that our electronic Australian visas had not been processed! Panic was the first emotion and then anger at our Sta agent for not sorting it. Luckily they were able to process a visa at the airport we did have to pay for another which was annoying but better than not being able to fly. We had a nice desert in the airport followed by a 3 cheese pizza very random order but we were too tempted by the menu and also starving. We got on the plane and were so exited because we were by the emergency exit and had soooo much leg room!!! We both slept really well with all the extra room and woke up ready for our new adventure in Sydney.I had a lot to organize in Sydney airport and we after 3 hours of being there crazy!! We finally got in the shuttle bus and arrived at our hotel around lunch time. We got to our room and headed straight out again mainly because the room smelt of mold so we didn't want to hang about to long. Our first day was mainly just walking around orientating ourselves and going to the Harbor. Once at the harbor we took a high speed boat around the harbor which involved wearing yellow ponchos and getting absolutely soaked. Getting to wet probably was our fault for choosing to sit at the front by really we didn't no any different. The photos tell the story better. After getting so wet we had to go back to the hostel as we physically could not have dried off!! We headed back sorted ourselves out and went for a steak dinner. Dinner was amazing was so nice finally have a steak. We went out to a few bars the night was pretty dead so we headed back quite early..
Day 2 of Sydney, we spent the morning sorting bits and pieces out laundry etc… by the time we had sorted bits out it was heading towards early lunch time. We planned today to visit Manly. We got the manly ferry which was a nice and calmer way of viewing the harbor the speed boat was exiting but there was no way cameras where allowed on as they would have died. The main reason we went to Manly was to visit my dads old house when he use to live their. We walked along the Manly scenic walkway and found my dads house. It wasn't what I expected and i am still not sure if we went to the right place. After taking a few photos of the house we went to the beach had a quick dip in the sea which was freezing. We headed back towards the center of Manly and went to the shopping street the corso. We did a spot of shopping and had a look at the surfing beach. We left Manly around 7 and just headed back to the city had some dinner and had a relatively chilled night.
Day 3 our last day, a very chilled start to the day had a nice breakfast outside as the weather was glorious and walked to Paddy´s Market which was off George street. This market was very overwhelming and huge. We had loads of fun though and I bought loads!! After our lazy morning and spending a bit of money. We headed for the beach our first plan was to go to bondi however, our dreams where shattered when we asked directions and a women who said we were mad to walk so we decided to walk to bronte beach. Which in fact was probably more of a mish. We walked for ages. Finally we arrived at the beach and watched some awesome surfing. Our last nigh was spent having another amazing steak this one was much better than the first night and I really didn't want to finish it, it was so good. After our dinner and a few glasses of wine later we departed and found a few more bars with good atmospheres. We meet some south Africans in a bar who were very friendly and they could not believe that we had not been to bondi the next thing we knew we were in a cab on our way to bondi they paid for the cab there and dropped us right on the beach. We had a little walk on the beach and had a few more drinks in a couple for bars around bondi. That was the end to our Sydney encounter we both defiantly want to go back and visit more of Australia. It was nice to have a brief taster and am exited to return!
Lots of Love
