WE ARE FINALLY IN AUSTRALIA!!!!
The hostel we are staying in is really cool, we are in a 10 bed dorm where everyone is really friendly, and after having been in Australia for about twenty minutes and seeing 3 roads Hannah has already claimed 'I like Australia'...
Although the prices here are crazy after having spent a month in Asia we are literally in a state of shock that is can be $3 for a chocolate bar and $8 for a drink. We have decided we probably wont be eating for the next month, as of yet we have bought pasta, tuna and a tomato sauce as it was the cheapest thing we could find and plan on living on that for a while!
On our first day here we walked through Sydney to try and get our bearings on the town and walked through the botanical gardens then went through to the Sydney Opera House which was pretty incredible to finally see. After that we decided to walk across the bridge and try and get some good pictures but I couldnt actually see over the side of the bridge because the wall was so high!
On our first night we went to the bar next to our hostel called 'Scary Canary' to meet a few people and to settle into Australia..but as it was a Friday night it was literally full of Australians who had finished work for the week.
Last night we also went on a party bus tour which is a drinking bus that takes you to loads of different bars in Sydney and is a great way to meet people, we all loved the party bus but are suffering for it today!
Today we went to Manly beach as it is only a short ferry ride away and its much quieter than Bondi, it was really hot but somehow the sea was still freezing!!! - At the beach Hannah also managed to get pooed on by a bird much to mine and Beths amusement.
Tomorrow we are moving to our apartment on Bondi ready for Christmas and we are hoping to get something Christmasy like mince pies because at the moment it does not feel like Christmas at all, we literally cannot believe it will be Christmas Eve tomorrow.
If I dont write on the again the MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone and hope it snows and is very festive at home. Missing everyone lots and have a mulled wine and a pig in a blanket for me!!!!

Terry Cornelius Loved the blog. I thought the views from the bridge were amazing and did you see all the pdlocks where people promise to love each other forever? I am sure it will be cheaper as you move out of Sydney. Hope your hostel is okay as this is the one I was responsible for booking! We have got all the food ready form Christmas and I will make the sacrifice of having a mince pie for you.Love Mum
Derek Argent Happy Christmas, the travels sound great. Have a good time- cant wait to see all the pictures and hear more about it. Best Wishes Derek and Jan
