This morning it rained. Yesterday, I forgot to mention, it did not. SCORE! The rain stopped before we left the hotel for the day so we're currently golden. Today is Bastille Day. It's gonna rock!
We began our morning again at the Toucan Cafe where our two waiters recognized us and said hello. Did I mention one of them welcomed me to Paris yesterday. I'm telling you, the French, nice people!
So then it was off to the train station to book our tickets to Amsterdam and then off to Notre Dame where we were finally able to climb to the top. We also sat and ate Crepe (that's for you Granny!) while we waited. It was pretty decent too! So the hike to the top is a grand total of 444 steps. That's more than the Belfry. I was doing okay going up this time. Going down, not so much. At the top though, we got a beautiful panoramic view of the city and we took plenty of pictures.
We grabbed lunch at our little patisserie once more and then headed off in search of an internet cafe... that brings us to now. Tonight we will go to the Eiffel Tower to watch fireworks for the celebration of Bastille Day and then we'll run back to get a few hours sleep. We will be getting up at 6 in the morning to catch our train to Amsterdam. So to all of you who have been keeping up, our next installment will be coming from the party town of Europe.
See ya!
