We made it to Vienna safe and sound. Exhausted and sweaty, but excited to be here. We are staying at the Wombats Hostel, weird name, great place. We love it here so far. It doesn't take much for us to feel right at home, some stiff bunk beds, a chance to shower and we are happy as can be, add in an internet cafe, bar, laundry facilities and a super market, not to mention a hot breakfast and we are in backpackers paradise.
We got up early and hopped a 5 hour train to Vienna, we made a few friends and rode together until we were relieved of our seats by some Japanese tourists whose seat reservations trumped our sit-where-you-want-tickets.
After a confusing map and a little trip down the wrong road we made it here, learned of our favourite amenities and all was well again.
After we showered we were new (less odourous) women. We took a little spin around town and hit the super market.
After making dinner we decided to check email. Now we are off to do some laundry because backpackers with clean clothes are happy (good-smelling) backpackers.
Tomorrow we are off to the open air market and maybe the opera if tickets are still available!
Thanks for the messages!
