Somehow, we needed to pack all of the items that we have acquired along our journey into a very minimal amount of luggage. After a bit of sweat, elbow grease and a long break for breakfast, we made it work.
Wat Pho was the last item on our checklist that we hadn't accomplished in Bangkok. In the opposite direction of the airport and with only a few hours remaining, it seemed unmanageable but we were resolute.
Loading our belongings quickly into a legit pink cab, we negotiated a deal to include a visit to the temple and airport delivery. Immediately, we were thankful that we pushed ourselves to see the largest and oldest temple in Bangkok. Wat Pho houses the largest Reclining Buddha, 46m long and 15m high.
Strolling around the Grand Palace and Buddha lined walls; we felt a sense of nostalgia and sorrow that we would not be visiting a temple again any time soon.
Our flights were uneventful as we traveled back in time to America.
