Ok so I'll continue from where Sally left off....
On the Tues morning we visited the Palace in Mexico City in the Zocalo where there were many murals from Diego (famous muralist in Mexico) as well as the Art Museum which was displaying an exhibition from Frida (Diego's wife and also a very famous Mexican artist - she is proper idolised out here and we had to queue for ages to get in!) was interesting but obviously didn't affect as much as some of the mexicans as we're not from here. we had a nice little viewing on the way back to the hostel as well as there was a naked protest going on in teh zocalo with some dudés face covering the male private area but the women had it all hanging out for the world to see!!!! sal took a photo which she'll put up in time lol.
then we braved the bus and went to puebla - 365 churches there - one for every day. unfortunately (!!!!!) we didn't have time to see them all but saw the Cathedral and Sanat Domingo Church. they're so religious out here and all teh churches are pretty amazing - all made out of lots of gold. We even sampled a Mexican dish in teh eve - Pollo con Mole (or something) which is chicken in a chocolate/chilli/spices sauce with wraps - tasty but so filling. sal wasn't too much of a fan though.
on wed we travlled to oaxaca in the morn as it's a 5 hours journey and wanted to arrive in the light. we just explored the zocalo and had some dinner where we got chatting to an israeli man who'd travelled around south america. very sweet but looked like a wild professor. even had a bit of food stuck in his hair! today we've just explored the rest of oaxaca - church of santa domingo, cerro de fortin (ampitheatre and planetarium up a steep hill), parks, Cathedral etc.
there's plans to go salsa dancing later and cycle to monte alban tmw (again up a hill so not sure we'll actually make it!) but sal's not feeling too good so might have to take it easy.
Hope you're all well back home, feel free to leave us messages as at the moment we're checking the Internet pretty regularly (this may well change when we hit the coast and discover the sea, cocktails and good nightlife - at the moment it's either been dead scary to go out or pissing down with rain!!)
