The long Journey from Puno to La Paz took us round the shores of Lake titikaka, via Copacabana. Massive drop in prices even from Peru (which wasn't very expensive) into bolivia. Food So cheap... Crazy when we had to get out of the bus to cross lake titikaka, we all got in boats, while our buses were driven onto planks of wood and basically punted across the lake to the other side!! Still with all our luggage tied to the roof! Was good to get to La paz safely! First impressions of La paz not great because we were staying in a street where there is a market during the day, so in the evening when we arrived it was full of rubbish and junk left from the day! Had our last evening with tour leader brent as was the end of one leg of the journey, meeting the new tour leader the next day. Nice thai meal and nite out. New people joined the group next day, a married couple and two single travelling girsl. New tour leader Danilo, first trip he's ever done, seemed a bit disorganised in the first meeting, but have to see how it goes! Spent the following day just goin g around la paz with abi and amy, seeing lots of museums, which raised my opinion of La Paz as got to see nicer parts of it. Mark spent the day doing "the Death Road" mountain bike trip... So called as hundreds of people used to die on it all the time!! Luckily that was before a new road was built, so now the mountian bike track rarely has traffic on it, so they can just fly down it very quickly! Mark Really enjoyed it. Off on another night bus to the next destination!
