Hangzhou, China
So this is rather late !!! We've already been in china for a month but i thought this was a much easier way of communicating with the masses !! So this blog will be pretty huge im afraid!!!
So we started in sunny beijing on the 13th of feb!!!!
Arrived pretty jet lagged and atomatically got a culture shock, you never really realise how much of a change it will be !!! I couldnt believe it when i stepped off the plane, i've got to admit i was really frightened and did wonder to myself what the hell i was doing and infact i was pretty tempted to just ask for a flight straight back to the UK, but i stood strong, took a deep breath and stepped out of the airport, got on the right bus, which impressed us alot and took another deep breath and said so this is it !!
We finally arrived in central beijing and i started to panic again, as the hostel wasn't in sight, a tuk tuk driver caught onto the fear and tried to con us into getting on, but we stuck with our instincts and walked the opposite direction to what he suggested, cheeky barstard is all i have to say about that!! After five minutes of looking we finally looked up and saw where we we're supposed to be!!!
The beijing international youth hostel was a nice suprise, it wasnt grungy like i expected, the rooms we're big and clean and we found lots of nice people to talk to while we were there, once settled in the adventure began!!!
We had 12 days to explore, this developing city and wanted to really take in all the sights it had to offer so, the walking shoes were put back on and off we went -
The first sights were Tia Men Square - Bloody hell this sight is absolutely huge !!! we walked around for ages taking it all in !! Couldn't quite believe the amount of people that came to see it either!! Amazing!! I walked around with an open gob!! Once fully explored we clambered down to the forbidden city, where the chinese we're selling the funniest Mao watches with a moving hand!! Unbelieveable!!! The forbidden city was bloody huge !!!!! The most amazing architecture i have ever seen, and the scale everything was on was just fantastic, takes a good two hours to walk around and really admire the sights!! The photos will be up soon !!!
Anyway im sorry but im getting bored of writing now so im going to have to come back to this later x ADIOS x
