I'm now half way through my travelling and I should have started this blog ages ago but as we say in french "Mieux vaut tard que jamais" :-)

We are now in Australia until the 19th of January. We flew from London to Bangkok on the 2nd of September. Spent there a few days, then crossed the border over to Cambodia where we went to Siem Reap to see the Angkor Wat temple, Phnom Penh the capital of the country and where we learned about the killing fields and the Khmer Rouge.

Travelled then up north to Laos where I got really sick in the 4000 thousand islands, managed to survive and then go further north all the way to the Luang Prabang with a day stop in the capital, Vientiane. Luang Prabang, best town so far, classified as a Unesco World Heritage City so that says it all. Buddhist temples and monks everywhere.

Unfortunately, we were on a tight schedule so we had to leave Laos earlier than what we would have wanted. Experienced a 3 days border crossing by bus to get into Vietnam, 600kms - 28 hours. Dien Bien Phu was our first stop, a very short one. Then Sapa, where all the rice fields you see on postcards are. Hanoi for its 1000th anniversary celebration, the unmissable Halong Bay. Hoi An and its red lanterns, another gorgeous Unesco World Heritage City and finally Ho Chi Min, the capital of Vietnam but Hanoi is 1000 better.

After an overdose of asian buses, finally a plane that took us to Kuala Lumpur, only a couple of days there before going down under to enjoy the australian spring and summer :-)
