Well as per usual I have been updating my blog daily...not...but this is due to never having the time!!!
Logrono in La Rioja was my town of choice for the weekend, spent with one of best friends Cess from Uni. To say it was a fantastic weekend is an understatement!!!On meeting Cess and her crazy friend Jimmy at the bus station-after a bus journey of just under two hours, we dropped my stuff at hers, before going for a 60 cents glass of vino tinto-amazing. The afternoon was spent exploring, buying some pumps for my poor feet which have been bleeding every night I have returned home from a night out-unfortunately, the reasons for this have yet to be discovered. After a stop at the chestnut hut for some roasted chesnuts, we returned to Cess's to get ready for a night of Tapas with the English teacher who she works for, Alicia and her friends. Jimmy tagged along and we started the night of with some wine-this time a mere 70 cents- and some cheese and bread....the Tapas crawl continued with a glass of wine from every bar, bread with mushrooms, fried goats cheese with a pepper marmalade, patatas bravas, and some more amazing mushrooms on bread-everyone elses clearly had a little gambas on top!!! The food was amazing, the wine incredible and Alicia and all her friends, sooo lovely and so much fun. We ended the night with some sneaky vodka...pretty much a pint glass, in a classy bar...before chosing to head home, whilst the older ladies went out on the town for their one night without husbands and childrens.
Saturday was a day of more exploring, a cheeky visit to a Bodega, Bicycle riding and a casual beating from an old man. In the evening an international meal had been arranged..pretty much compiling of 25 spanish guys and 9 randoms, of which I was one of. The evening was great...wine on tap, and not a single drink needing to be bought due to being in the company of many spanish men....and ended at a casual 7am!
Sunday wasn't lost, with some further exploring, well of a cafe, and the making of Bruschetta for Cess's flatmates, before returning home!
This week has compiled of sorting out my membership for the leisure centre and signing up for classes, being told by my students that they dont have girlfriends, being told I look like Ke$ha by nearly all my younger students, which I think is actually an insult!!!Meeting a nice couple of guys from Cadiz and Sevilla...one of which told me I had the best Spanish he'd heard from an English-clearly a little charmer and going for dinner at my friend Ants house-he made us Roast Veg and cous cous without me even saying its my favorite!!!!
So in all, another great week...despite foretting my keys today and having to travel for an hour around Bilbao to get my flatmates from her at work! Now lying in bed, I am preparing myself for an After Dark party at the Guggenheim followed by Fever one of the night clubs, a Halloween Party at my friends house tomorrow evening, again followed by a club, and the same again on Sunday evening! Luckily Monday, is Fiesta again in Bilbao in addition to it being one of my days off!!
