Wow!! How chuft to bits am I.
I did caving today. Part 1 - Haggas Honking Holes. Theres 8 of us plus the guides all kitted out in very fetching black wetsuits with orange helmets and white wellies. We have a quick practice abseil above ground and then head for the caves. Who would believe that 4 hours underground in freezing cold water could be so much fun. We had to do 3 abseils, 1 of which was 20m down a waterfall. Ive crawled through tunnels, swam in underground tunnels and looked at glowworms whilst eating a chocolate fish. Amazing fun and everybody came out alive.
Part 2 - Lost World. The scariest part. After a quick change and a bite to eat I was off in another van with another guide and 3 other people. Once again kitted out in nice blue overalls with the wellies and the hat. We drive for about 20 mins to another cave site. This is where the adventure begins for me. The start of the tour invloves abseiling 100m into a big dark, dank, wet sacry hole. It takes about 25-30mins and I can honestly say I have never clung to a rope so tightly in my life!!! When I was about ready to finish we were only half way down! After that the rest was a piece of p*ss. We climbed a bit, saw some more glow worms and then the bit they dont tell you about is the 30m ladder climb to get out the cave at the end.
Needless to say Im incredibly proud of myself and once I sort out the photos you can see why im raving about it so much.
Thats all for now. Hope your all well.
