First to report is that Death Valley is very HOT!!
Second day in lake Tahoe was another day for the idiot abroad series. We hired some Kayaks, a two man and a one man for the day, but then had to carry them all the way to the beach - 20mins in the sun! Following this we squeezed 3 people in the 2 man and started to kayaks into the middle of the lake, great scenery but after 15mins every one was pretty bored and tired! So we chiledl in the little boat for a while whilst it gradually sunk due to the extra man - not my weight!!!! Following this the return to Shore was intense. Pat went in the single kayak along the shore and me, Ed and Tim went through the middle in the 2 man to beat him.We were getting to top speed, about 15 mins hard work, we were gonna beat him by inches, BOOM we capsized. Getting back on the boat we capsized again. Once back on the sinking Kayak we realized we had lost a paddle - 'lost at lake'! A long walk back with the missing paddle! Evening we had a BBQ with a few beers then got turned away from the casinos for not having a passport ID, probs a good thing!!
In the morning we traveled to Carson city to play a very scenic but hard game of golf at Sunridge Golf club. The championships are heating up with one more game to play! The evening was a long drive to real America at Turnock!! On the way we crossed bear valley - the eyes were pealed but sadly their were a lack of squeals! Driving up a cliff face to 9000 Ft where there was snow, was also a highlight for some!
The big days drive was today from Turnock to Yosemite to Death Valley. Yosemite is worth a visit, very picturesque with another climb of 9000 Ft. On the way down is the drive through to the desert. Crazy Ed was stopped by the sheriff for speeding, one idiot wanted to bribe the sheriff but luckily he was stopped!!Great negotiations from the wise bear Pat got us on our way!
Dangerous days ahead is Vegas from tomorrow night, once a High Roller who knows what can happen!!!
