Barcelona second time around was even better than the first time. This time we went to Montjuic Castle - a military base which was actually still in use as a prison up until about 1981. It was mostly occupied by political prisoners but is now a tourist attraction. Fabulous views from the top - especially from the Watch Tower. From Madrid we took another train ride to Bilbao. What a beautiful city! And the Guggenheim was everything and more than we had expected. Spent a whole day wandering through and then walked back again that night to have dinner in the bistro - the Guggenheim was just a short walk along the river from our hotel. Can't sleep so might as well give the blog another go! Think the last one got as far as Marrakech. While were in Marrakech we did a day tour to a lovely place called Essaouira - on the Atlantic coast - quite beautiful. First stop was the fish market where we purchased our freshly caught fish which we took to a local restaurant ( barbecue house) where they were later cooked for us.
