Langkawi, a new country a new journey. Unfortunately the weather since we've been here hasn't been the best, being cloudy with the odd shower. The toughest part of travelling to a new country is always figuring out how much things should really cost without having our pants pulled down! Secondly which we've struggled with is finding decent street food.. The street food here tends to be more of a buffet design.. Which I'm not too fond of taking chicken from a street buffet..
We rented bikes out and decided to take a look at the island. Two of the beaches we went to were beautiful because of the lack of tourist.. Just the odd women in saris not soaking up that much sun in the 30 degree heat.. Despite the waters beating quite mercky, the sand was nice and white and I felt like we were actually cooking sitting there.! On the way back we went up to a view point up a mountain, it took about 30 minutes to get to the top and we saw what looke like a prison.. It turned out to be a resort with a view tower in the centre... Not sure i'd stay there..Well worth the trip though. 360 degree view from the top of the tower despite feeling I'll the whole time, looking out and seeing the entire island was pretty special.
On the way back from the beach we found a mountain road the wound from left to right all the way down for about 3 miles. We got to the bottom both looked at each other, turned round and did it again. Even on crap bikes it was soo much fun!
