Not really much to write today. We woke up early and were on a train for 12 hours haha.
We caught the Overlander train in Auckland and got off in Wellington. The scenery all the way down did not disappoint. Beautiful green rolling hills, snow capped mountains, rivers and streams, cows and sheep!! Once we passed Palmerston North we were officially the furtherest down south I had ever been, which was super exciting for me, no one else on the train seemed to care haha. But this is only the beginning, we've still got a lot more southern traveling to complete over the next 12 days!!
So once we got to Wellington it takes me all of an hour to decide, I LOVE THIS CITY!!!!! We are staying at Base Backpackers on the top level so pretty much the penthouse. This place is way nicer than our Auckland "hotel". Before we knew it, we were starving, so a quick feed, a quick look around and then home to our penthouse to bed.
