Kya Travels
...and then we time traveled to Monday. I literally only woke up for meals on the plane, then was fast asleep again. I remember once seeing the stewards collecting rubbish 3 rows froms, and thought I'd wait for my tray to be picked up, but was asleep before they got to me! So then we touched down in Brisbane. We got off the plane, then had to pick up our bags and transfer to the domestic terminal. We got on the bus when it finally turned up, and drove further than I expected to the terminal. We had to drop off our bag again, but instead of having to line up at the check in counter, we were allowed to just drop it off at baggage services and then head through to security. We got through and went to our gate where we found a seat. We chatted to a few people, including Ollie, who was originally from Point Lonsdale, who was also a musician. We got to show off our instruments to him for a bit, as his flight to Melbourne was delayed. Eventually he boarded, and we got coffee and kept waiting. This was the frustrating part, because we were home but not home, and there were two flights to Melbourne before ours, and they both got delayed. Darren tried to get swapped onto the earlier flight (which was delayed to our flights scheduled time) with no success, then we had to wait an extra hour before being told our gate had changed. Then we waited maybe another half hour before boarding. So frustrating! We finally got on and found our seats, and were lucky enough to have a spare seat in our row, so we had some extra space at least. Darren snoozed and I blogged for the 2ish hour trip to Melbourne, then we finally landed back home. We picked up our bag and went out to find the next Gull Bus to Geelong, but it was still an hour away, so we had to wait there in the cold (at least it wasn't raining, but man that air was chilly!) until the bus arrived. We got on and got a seat up the back, then next minute, a guy named Nathan that Darren knew years ago got on as well. So he came up to sit with us and we spent the next almost two hours chatting with him about his music career. (When we weren't stuck in traffic anyway!) We finally arrived back in Geelong and walked down the street to where my amazing dad had left my car for me. We drove to our favourite noodle place where we ordered some dinner then finally we were homeward bound. We arrived home, where Lachie was outside packing up his car, then after a quick hello, we went inside and got some cuddles from the little cutie we'd missed the most, Hendrix. He didn't seem too ****** at us! So almost 48 hours of travel, and many cuddles, noodles and chats later, Lachie headed off and we went straight to bed in the spare room for cuddles and sleeping with the kitten!
