Hey everyone!
I spent last weekend in Prague, Czech Republic! It was a truly beautiful town with lots of history. It was cool to see, because it is one of the only towns that was totally distroyed b the Nazis. Although the do drive on the right hand side of the road...Hilter made them do it and that was something like home at least. We spent the first day just touring the sights. Once we figured out the language and the public transportation system, we went to Prague Caste. It had a great view and a wonderful cathedral up there. Yes...another cathedral! This one was simply spectacular and was very different than the many I have seen in Britian. From there, we walked to Charles Bridge. It was famous bridge found in the city. Pretty views of the river and town surround it. We ate lunch next at a quaint Czech restaurant and went to the Old Jewish Sector. This was really cool and moving. There was a whole snyogogue with the names of the people who died in WWII. Walls and walls were filled with their names. Then we walked in a cemetary which had tombstones layered on top of each other. I guess about 12 layers in all, which was quite interesting to see. Then we did a little shopping and went to dinner.
The next day was leisurely and we enjoyed ourselves greatly. We saw the museum and walked around the city. We had a picnic lunch and went and saw some more great views. We went to this great restaurant for dinner and had a wonderful farewell dinner! The next day we left and went back to Harlaxton for another week!
I'm going to see my friend Aly this next weekend in Vienna, Austria!! It should be fun!
