Day two - we went to Disneyland Paris.
I love the way theme parks are set out in 'lands' and that the scenery and rides are all themed - makes me feel like i'm far away and on a real adventure! There aren't that many big rides there but there as steve reminded me disney is about the magic and not the rides! Because we got there when it opened we saw the little good morning parade with some of the disney characters - didn't see any of the main ones though until later in the day when they had mickeys party time and him, goofy, donald duck and some others plus loads of dancers were dancing on a big stage in front of the disney castle. The best ride in disney has got to be space mountain - I actually screamed for real near the beggining but it was really cool! One of my favorite scenes in disney is adventure land, theres this huge rock skull waterfall thing next to a pirate ship in the lake - it looks WELL GOOD and steve took a really cool photo of it! :)
We went in universal studios too, half of the park was closed for some reason so we didn't do too much there, we went on the hollywood tower of terror ride - my mum went to disneyworld when I was little and I remember her stories of the ride there so really wanted to check it out. There was a really cool guy that played the bellboy kinda thing and he seemed to really get into the role and made it really good. The ride made my stomach feel like it was in my chest and I think I grabbed the guys leg that sat next to me trying to hold onto something, but once I'd got used to the sensation of falling it was ok - it doesn't drop the whole 13 floors though which I think maybe it should!! We took a tram ride which was a universal studio tour thing, they took us onto a 'hot set' and blow stuff up in front of you - pretty cool but then water started cascading down right towards us, then from above the top of the tram and i was scared of getting my camera (and my hair) soaked! Luckily it didn't really even splash us and I calmed down in time to take a few photos! The best part of universal was a ride called Crush's Coaster - it was awesome!! Its supposed to be like the sensation turtles feel when they ride the austrailian current, it spun us around all over the place, it was fast and fun - it was my favorite ride! :)
My highlight of the day which was probably the highlight of my trip - finding the most awesome restaurant in Disney Village. The village is a really fun place to look at, I think the restaurants are all themed and the one that really caught my eye was called 'The Rainforest Cafe.' There are huge mushrooms outside of it and as you walk in its like walking into the jungle. The walls and ceiling are covered in vines and giant animal heads poking through the leaves. The waiters dressed as gamekeepers and there were mini thunderstorms every half hour or so where the lights dimmed and flashed and you hear thunder through hidden speakers. I just can't describe it well enough and my pictures don't do it justice either but I was just so excited in there and kept taking pictures over peoples heads while they were sittin at their tables. I kinda felt like I was more excited than the kids there but didn't care! Our meal was quite expensive but we splashed out - it was worth it just to sit in there - I could have stayed there all night!
