Hii guys sorry we havnt wrote sooner been a bit hectic. Arrived safe after 36 hours of flying and 42 hours wearing the same clothes...Little stressed with me loosing my ipod on the flight and having found it 8 hours later under the seat cushion in all the wires and electrics!! After arriving to the airport we got the shuttle to our first hostel only to realise we had got off 3 stops too early and had to walk up the biggest hill imaginable resulting in dean being too hot for the first time on our trip!! New zealand is very hilly!! everywhere you go there are hills!! The people are so friendly here, we havn't got our map out for more then 2 minutes without some stopping to see if we needed and help. Every one talks to you and smiles. The weather over here at the minute is beautifull not too hot, fresh and dry. With it being spring here there are hundrdeds of baby lambs and cows and everywhere is green, hills after hills of green!
The rugby world cup is on at the minute and it is massive; every house, corner shop, school has some form of decoration outside and every one is talking about it. We were on the plane on the way here and were sat next to Jonuh Lomu (however you spell it, apparently hes a famous rubgy player).
In Aucland we decided to go see the sky tower but insead of us paying $28 for entry we went the restaraunt and just bought a light snack for $28 and got free entry wooo! The views were amazing, right over the sea, you could see for miles and the food was gorgeous. It had a glass floor to walk on which was kinda scary and the restaraunt rotated. A waiter told us a tale that once a lady put her baby carrier with baby inside on the outer side of the spinning floor, by the time she had took some pictures she looked down to realise her baby had rotated half way around the room on the spinning floor, ha!
Yesterday we drove up towards the north tip near Russel in the most amzing form of transort you can imagine, an automatic toyota vitz. It has a 0.8litre engine which is fantastic for climbing up the massive mountains we drove through and with it being automatic the sound effects are quite something.....urg! Dean keeps trying to put his foot through the floor trying to use the none existant clutch. We stayed in our first shared dorm. Quite strange listening to many boys including dean snoring all night and dean was a little anoyed he was sharing a room with all boys and no girls, not what he had dreamt of at all.
The town where were staying is beautifull, on the bay of islands. Tiny island dotted around out to sea in tourqouise waters. Tiny little quaint shops and lovely resaraunts out to see, and sooo clean!
We've had a good nights sleep though and are up early to drive to the tip of the island where the two ocenas meet. We shall try put some pictures up soon, people are still sleeping in our dorm and dont want to wake them routing for our camera.
Miss you all Katie and Dean xxxxx
