Up at 7, off ship by 8:15am. Tram it straight to Serenity bay to get our chairs setup and then go and get our bike rentals. Amy not thrilled, but she joins. Stacey and Amy had more fun than they thought. Very enjoyable. Only a 1 hour rental, but did the bike circuit and probably did 6 or 7k riding. Just before we drop off the bikes we ride back 1 stop to Pelican Point to get our snorkel gear and floaty / inner tube, and then ride back with it. Saves us having to walk or tram it back and forth again to get them. We're warm now so Amy and I get into the water quickly. Stacey slowly gets in, thinking it's cold, but is very soon in with us. Stacey sees fish in the water near the shore almost right away. Silver fish of some kind, about 6 or 8 inches long. Later I see some flat fish, like Dory from finding Nemo, but more clear and white in color.
After cooling off, it's on to the beach chairs for some lounging and rest. Amy and Stacey pass out, Amy in shade and Stacey in sun, but me, I'm partly shaded and partly in sun from the umbrella, and it's more sun than I want. Too hot for me. I don't sleep. The girls wake up around 11:30 hungry, so we walk over to Cookies Too BBQ for lunch. We run into Ismet there working, he stops by to say hi. He's such a good guy.
Our belly's topped up, we tram it back to Pelican Point for some knick knack shopping, before going back to Serenity Bay. Stacey's belly is acting up a bit, and she decides to pack it up and go back to the ship. Amy and I stay and she trys to show me how to snorkel. It doesn't go well for me and I get a few snootfuls of sea water again. Yuck! She makes it look easy, but I don't have the patience for this today. I'm tired and my feet are sore. My water shoes that I have been wearing have rubbed the skin off of the back of my ankles and heels on both feet. I had put moleskin on both before we left the ship this morning, but it's worn off of both, and stinging and very tender. I go back to grab the inflatable floatation vest to see if that will help me in the water snorkelling, but I can't get either of the vests we have to inflate. I'm soon out of breathe and more tired from hyperventilating trying to blow them up. I give that up too and just grab the floaty mat to float with on the water. Some darker clouds roll in and it starts to sprinkle.
Ok, that's enough for me. I go and start packing up. It takes me about 5 minutes or so to pack up, and the rain has already stopped by the time I'm ready to go. But the water shoes are back on my feet and I know that it will only get worse the more I keep them on, so I go slowly and return the mat, and then tram back to Pelican Point to return the towel and snorkel gear. I take a few pictures of the surrounding area, and reboard the tram to get back to the ship. I'm back at the cabin at 2:30pm.
Stacey is sitting reading something, and I only stay long enough to change to dry clothes and run off to watch a 3D movie in the main theatre. Stacey goes to lay in the sun for more pain, I mean, color. Why do people say the lines of movies out loud after they've seen it? Buddy, if you want to do color commentary, go down to the sports bar and do NFL or Nascar commentary or play by play. Or use the filter in your brain to just think the lines to yourself, everyone else doesn't need to hear it. Seriously!
Back to the cabin at 4:30 and Stacey is watching Pirates of the Caribbean marathon on TV. I just sit and watch and switch my brain off. I think the sun has drained us both. I'm itchy all over. Stacey says that it's just a light burn and it's natural, but I don't think so. Looks like little bumps on me. I get Stacey to put some aloe gel on my back, and she looks closer and decides that it looks more like a rash. She recommends I take some Benedryl. Either I'm allergic to sea water or the sun. I'm thinking sun.
Amy goes to watch Guardians of the Galaxy at 5pm, we all skip the Toy Story Musical show in the main theatre. Not sure when she got back from the beach. 4:30 I think. Before we know it, it's time for dinner. Amy stops by our room to pick us up around 8:10 and we go down to Parrot Cay for dinner. Amy tries Grouper with Jumbalaya rice, Stacey has salmon and I go for the prime rib. Good stuff. A couple of Stacey specials for dessert for her, and a Mickey Bar for Amy. I'm full enough and skip dessert.
After dinner, the girls go to guest services to find out about the time for port tomorrow and come back to the cabins. Nassau tomorrow, and Stacey and I are supposed to go Discover Atlantis, at the Atlantis resort. The pictures of the resort look pretty. Amy is just going to go shopping on her own near the port, I believe.
Off to bed.
G'night all.
WYWH,
Kim =) and Stacey :)
