We are now in Cambodia in Siem Reap having crossed the border on Sunday. We wanted to cross on Saturday, but messed up a little and got to the border village late after a 5 hour bus journey and border control was closed. We therefore spent a night in a dodgy town called Aranya Prathet. Stayed in our first real budget accomodation complete with strip lighting and some insects! Oh well, only cost about 1 pound for us both. Crossed the border pretty easily then...

Want to see the Grand Palace which is an amazing kind of city of wats (temples) which were very sparkly and cool. Also housed there is the Emerald Buddha, which is apparently the most religious site in Buddhism and many travel here to pray. We unfortunately ran oput of money as haven't totally worked out conversion rates yet and had to seriously barter with a tuk-tuk driver to take us back to the hotel. In order to get it cheap we had to agree to let him trake us...

Our first day in Bangkok and of our travels is coming to an end. We got to the plane station and decided to splash out for the last time and get a taxi to the hotel since we'd had a mammouth journey. It was pretty scary though as there don't seem to ber any road laws and he had a tele in his car which he watched whilst driving. We found a thai restaurant for tea which was really nice. We past a McDonalds and Pizza Hut first though so are very proud of oursel...
