Okay, I was just reading through your journal ... I try to explain to students what a PAIN it can be but your journal expresses it PERFECTLY. I would LOVE to share some of this (especially your first few days) at the pre-departure orientation. Can I????????

Krystal - you are FINALLY studying abroad - YIPPEE!! I'm proud of you girl. I LOVE this blog - I want all our students to do this! It looks like you're having fun. Who is Darren? Hmmm? How are you doing with the language? Culture shock is tough - everything must be/feel/taste/smell so new. However, it looks like somehow you are managing with lots of friends - (til 1am) - I'm proud of you for staying with someone close by when you're out late. UMKC is the same as ever - busy! Our big pre-departure meeting is this coming Saturday. Remember that? Doesn't it seem like eons ago? I'm so glad to be able to check in on you this way - thanks for including your friendly study abroad advisor! Also, let me know if you run into any snags - I'm here for you. I may not always have time to check this, so email whenever you need to. Tschüs!

We read your updates, had a rough day on Monday but sounds like your over the hump and settling into a wonderful life experience and making some good friendships. Enjoy! Maybe this weekend you will find some quite time for yourself. Nothing new here....going to Disney on Ice tonight with the Brownie troop and hope to relax some over the weekend. Very busy week. I'm glad you're having a great time. Darrell has been real sick and had to stay home from work for 2 days. Doctors orders. He's been so board he has been surfing for a lawn mower and then got brochures to look at. Please go back to work Darrell. We miss you!!!!
