Hello everyone! First travel blog ever so I'm hoping this will turn out very awesome. That and it's late and I really can't go to sleep. Why you ask? Well you'd be a fool if you don't know why I can't sleep at this exact moment since I'm pretty sure it's been well broadcasted by myself especially in the last few days. But for those who really don't have a clue, let me give you a little background story.
When I was just a tiny little guy standing at most likely less than 4 feet, my mommy brought me over to Canada from the Philippines on October something of '97. If I got the date right, I might've been 8-ish...? Again, it's really late. But ever since then I have never been to that side of the world. The side where it's totally different from where I grew up and where it never snows. However, that's all going to change today. Today, being May 1st, 2009, I will be flying back to the country where I was born for 2 months. That's right. TWO. And that my friends is why I am super excited at the moment.
And you're probably wondering what this New York City deal is. Well, my aunt lives here it saves like around $500+ flying from here than from the middle of nowhere that is Ottawa. And yes, I drove. And yes, that includes the city. WHICH I LOVE VERY MUCH! But anyway, my mommy and I got here at around 11:30-ish pm on wednesday night so today, or yesterday rather I had a free day in the city, but I instead decided to visit an old friend from high school, Leah Halka. For those of you Trinity guys that don't know who she is, she was there till grade 8 and she used to hang out with Emily so that's how I know her. Anyways, so I visited her across the Hudson over in Teaneck, NJ and all I can say is I was pretty much astounded about the whole campus. It's a small town university but it definately has a big city campus feel to it since it's sooooo close to everything including the big apple. So I met up with Leah after missing my exit off Route 4, and we had coffee while giving me a tour around. The campus is a decent size with the Hackensack river cutting through it on on both sides of the river there's a nice trail with benches scattered around. There were also a whole bunch of cherry blossoms all around the campus which pretty much almost laced the trails in pink and it was really pretty. Yeah, I might've gotten a little jealous and I wish I had a camera so you guys can see it. I wish I could've stayed long but Leah had class at like 4/5-ish so I had to head back into the city, which by the way took forever to drive in the middle of rush hour, but I managed to survive so it's all good. So that's what I did yesterday I guess. Well that and watched my usual Thursday night American TV line up, except for the Office unfortunately.
But anyhoo, still super pumped about the trip today although the flight to Soeul is a greuling 18 hours-ish from JFK but I'll survive. Although I really don't know how I'm going to react once I get to Manila. My grandpa still doesn't know that I'm gonna be there so that should be an awesome scene to see. However, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE in the family over there know's I will be coming and it's kind of a little intimidating, but I'm sure it wouldn't be THAT bad... I hope. Lawlz. Wow. this is getting worse the more I drag on but I can't sleep. Although I guess I should start attempting, so I'll keep you guys posted but you guys probably won't be able to hear from me until I get to the Philippines cause stealing the internets from someone here is a lot harder in the mornings for some reason. Yes. That is correct. I'm currently stealing the internets since my aunt doesn't own one. But that's ok. :D
So, I'm gonna try to head to bed now so good night guys! And I'm gonna miss y'alls!
