Hi!
We arrived this morning in Ho chi minh around 4-5am without much sleep on the bus and so we tried to take a taxi to where we thought we were last time we were here but ended up in the middle of a posh area in district 1. Obviously not anywhere near our budget for a hotel room so we took a second taxi to where all the backpackers are and also where there is a bus branch to catch the bus from tomorrow at 6am to Phnum pehn. Once we got to where we were going it didnt take long before we found a cheap hotel for 8usd/night. We got straight to catching up with some sleep and woke up 6hrs later well rested and with a mission to find the bus branch and get info on the visas for Cambodia.. again... The visas we got the first time was only valid for a single entry, so for only really passing through for a couple of days, we need 2 more visas... sucks... Which also means we're not going to see the temples in Ankor Wat in Siem riep to make sure we dont go over the budget, still have 2 weeks to go and probably going up to Chiang Mai in Thailand when we get there. However in these 5 weeks in three countries i'd say we'll have experiensed quite a lot so we can't complain!:)
The weather the last couple of weeks has been really hot (35-40 degrees) with a shower of rain maybe every third day, so perfect really. Sometimes a bit too hot but yesterday in Da lat was a nice change as i said and was probably no less then 20 degrees with a bit of wind, but felt so cold after the sun had set. Makes me think the heat is quite nice most of the time!
So next on the agenda is finding a supermarket to buy some bread to make sandwiches for our long journey tomorrow. Dep 6.30am to Phnum pehn and dep 14.00pm to Siem riep and will not arrive there until late. After that were not far from being back in Thailand.
Thanks again for all the nice messages, we love reading them so keep them coming!!! And congrats again to Annie and Tim on your engagement!!
