So we're a bit into 2009 now and still can't believe we've gone over halfway on our trip already and time is just gonna move faster from here! Trying our best to take it all in and make the most of our time. However now that nz is just on the doorstep we're trying to get in contact with our friends over there and working up a little road trip plan, but most of the planning we'll do when we get there.
Newcastle is very hot at the moment, around 35 degrees, but also cloudy. We went to the wildlife park the other day and apparently there's a law in new south wales that you can't hold the koalas because of their sensitive digestive system... I wish they'd told me that before we left Queensland! Oh well, fair enough i guess. And john, they did warned me about the sharp claws, but it'd be worth it! :) Other than that, we' haven't done much. Been working hard on updating the blog with pictures and searching for hosts in Sydney. Have found one for two nights before we go but would prefer a bit longer if possible, but not much time left. We also had a little bbq yesterday, can't have too many of those!
The parcels we've sent to both sweden and england could take up to 5 months coz we could't afford airmail so you just have to try and be patient. Also take in to consideration it's been holidays and the post is probably backed up a bit... The one we sent from Delhi, they said the same but it arrived within weeks, so you just can't tell.
Please write and tell us how you all celebrated the new year! How's the weather in Sidmouth? I think the clouds here (even in 35 degrees) makes Jason think of home a little bit :)
Not much more to tell at the moment, just looking forward to seeing a bit more of Sydney and eventually driving around in nz without having to worry about accomodation and bus timetables! Will be fun to see some old friends from our seasons in the alpes perhaps... We'll definatly keep couchsurfing when we can anyway, it's really good fun and people take such good care of you.
Take care
Lots of love// Jason & Kristin
