We have been busy since the last entry so sorry for the late update. Michelle Rača is much less ghetto now haha. They are refinishing the outside of many buildings to spruce it up. Except for the hotel when you look left out the bedroom window. It was redone but in the same commie gray. It just makes no sense.
Two days ago we came to Niki's fathers side of the family (know to us as Vlčkova because that is the name of the street). We arrived here at 6pm and had dinner and sat around visiting with the whole family had a bit of scotch and some brandy (second time trying brandy ever and it was in the same day haha) it was a nice evening. Everyone here except for Babi can communicate in English.
We woke up yesterday and took the train to Vienna with Niki's cousin Petra and Petra's friend Carly who is from Australia. It was an amazing day. Vienna is beautiful. It is just like the Europe you see in movies. You are constantly surrounded by huge old buildings and cobblestone streets. Everywhere you look is just amazing.
We had lunch at a restaurant called "wienner vald" kind of reminded me of a Swiss chalet except serving massive wiener schnitzel.
After lunch we split up and Niki and I wandered around taking in the sights for a couple of hours while the other girls shopped. During our walk we saw the funniest thing. A city tour where everbody was riding Segways!! It was awesome. I also saw a stop on the UEFA Champions league trophy tour. I saw the trophy through the side door. We didn't go in because there was a long line up that didn't move once while we were there. When the trophy is transported between cities it is towed around by it's own transport truck in a big glass display case like the pope mobile. Pretty funny.
We later met up at Cafe Central which is a very very old cafe in Vienna that used to be frequented by a famous poet. It was amazing, almost like being inside an old church.
We then met up with Petra's friend from Bratislava who now lives in Vienna with her Finnish boyfriend. We went to a cool little bookshop/pub for a couple drinks and then took the train back to Bratislava.
