We went shopping again, this time for kitchen items. On our way to the station we found bagels that were actually made from whole wheat. They could serve as breakfast even.
At Yodobashi we just bought a water cooker, maho bin (hot drink container) and blowdryer. We had to be back in time for the TV installation people, which installed the settop box for us. We can now not only watch tv, but also record it or get video-on-demand.
We tried to find a local restaurant in our street, but strangely enough they were all closed already. We settled for what we thought was a simple thing: pizza. But apparently Domino's Pizza is differently prized here, because we never expected to pay 25 to 35 euro for one ordinary pizza. We bought it anyhow and ate it on the couch while watching Bones Season 6.
One strange thing about Japan is that many things require a Japanese telephone number, like point cards of stores, TV subscription and dry cleaning. For getting a mobile phone subscription for Michelle we even had to have a fixed line! But when applying for a fixed line they asked for a mobile phone number. Running in circles everywhere...
