All I can say is it took me forever to get here. It was a great ordeal in the end. And now I am in a city that reminds me of Chicago and I don't feel very far away from home at all except for the fact that everything I buy costs double in US dollars.
£5 Phonecard = $10 and 150 minutes to call home
£20 One night in a crap hostel = $40 and a backache after carrying a heavy pack
£2 for a Hairbrush = $4 and trying to fight my way through millions doing retail therapy on Oxford St.
£5.10 for an all day pass to ride the Tube = priceless
I think my favorite thing about London is the Tube. I have no idea why since many Londoners seems to think it's not the greatest thing and would rather not ride it, but compared to Minnesota's public transport it's heaven. Plus I got to see Platform 9 and 3/4! And most of it is underground. I just really like it.
I'm hoping to get out of the city soon. And find a job or I'll be heading home before I know it.
