Hi Kalico, sounds like fun times. What a beautiful place from the pictures. Very exciting too hear of all the tramping and climbing you are and will be doing. We miss you but are enjoying your adventures. But remember...................

Kalico!
1. "the bars are open till 5 or 6, something I'm definitely not used to! Though I still can't really make it past 3"
I'm sure in a week you'll be leaving the bar at 5am, having a few more drinks at the corner store, then doing the ride of shame home on the subway at 10am while Koreans in their business suits stare at you. Oh wait...... w
2. I noticed a nice new sweater in one of your photos, I TOLD you they would have sweaters in New Zealand! ;)
3. "Luckily I can't cook anyways so it's not like I'm truly missing out, but now I'll have to find alternatives to frozen pizza"
Get yourself I microwave... I can teach you how to make anything in it. I am a whiz.
4. "My goal is to be fluent in German by the end of the semester, I swear it can be done"
That would be amazing! I'm ashamed at how little Korean I learned. I could only say "More beer", "Don't speak Korean" and "Not a prostitute". Hmmm.
5. "We really don't sound that different from most people in the States"
You know what's funny? After about 6 months I was amazed by the Canadian accent whenever I called home. New dewt abewt it!
I'm so glad you're settling in and having some fun, we miss you here!!
xoxo

loving the blog Kal! hope to see you soon:)
Nicola
Yay for babies! As I mentioned earlier Kallan, I strongly beleive that "Nicola" is an excellent name for aforementioned "Girl." Here's a few reasons why:
1) According to babynames.com, it means "victory of the people." That's a pretty good meaning, ya know, the common good,
2)It's not Ava, Isabella or Madeline, which are apparently the most popular names for girls right now. So she won't have to ask "Which Nicola are you trying to send to the principals office Mrs. Smth?"
3) It sounds great in French, Greek, Italian, and English. And all others, but I know those for sure.
4) Easier to spell in cursive (no fancy F,G, K or Z)
5) We already know an awesome person named Nicola, so we don't have to worry about her being dissapointed by her name lineage. Also, so far as I know, no famous crazies were named Nicola either.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand I rest my case.
Otherwise, Morgan, Elena and Chiffon are pretty awesome (but you hae to pronounce chiffon with extra emphasis on the ending, as in chi-FAWWWN. Well done).
