Goodbye Morocco.........Hello Ireland
Just finished our last stop in Morocco and as usual we hit our favourite at the end. We hit the beach town of Essaouira for two nights and there is not too many bad things we can say about this small beach town on the coast.
We arrived there Thursday afternoon and called the hostel right when we got into town. Immediately the owner, Abraham, came to pick us up in his jeep and even drove us down to the beach. Talk about service!
Abraham brought us back to the hostel after with his buddy BizBiz and showed us around the hostel, called Essaouira Hostel. It was a very nice hostel and probably one of the best weve stayed at. It had a great kitchen, satellite tv, and of course, a rooftop terrace.
What made it even better though was Abraham and BizBiz, along with their dog Spiggle. Both of them had grown up in Essaouira and were travellers themselves. They made couscous for everyone on Tuesday night for free and we partied with them until 4 in the morning playing poker, learning about their experiences in Morocco and just joking around.
Wednesday we walked around the town and went to the beach. The beach there wasnt as nice as it was in Cadiz, but it definitely wasnt too shabby. I will say that if surfing is your thing, than Essaouira is the place to be. The waves there are pretty good.
Wednesday night we took it easy as we were tired from the night before. We hung out with Spiggle and BizBiz and watched some old Clint Eastwood movies. They were pretty hilarious.
Today we it the beach one last time and said goodbye. We will definitely miss it. We will definitely miss the sun too, as I think I had to give myself a pep talk about going back to the overcast days, just joshing.
So tomorrow it is a long day of travel but with a pot of gold attached to the end. Two plane rides, but when we get to Cork, Ireland it will be great because apparently they have changed St. Patricks Day there to the 15th, so we get to exprience it twice!
So heres sending the luck of the Irish to ya, and goodbye Morocco!
